PS2 status: Wireless inverter annunciator
The PS2 status annunciator is a new module designed by APRS World, LLC to remotely verify the operation of your PowerSync II inverter. Two very bright green LEDs remain on when the PowerSync II inverter is generating power or waiting for wind. If for any reason the inverter is neither generating power nor waiting for wind, then the LEDs will go out within 61 seconds. When the green light is glowing, you know that your Bergey Excel is ready to go. If the green light is out, you know immediately that your turbine is offline. The PS2 status annunciator is perfect for inverters located in barns and other locations that are visited infrequently.
Housed in a weatherproof polycarbonate box with a clear front panel, the PS2 Status Annunciator can be mounted indoors or outdoors. The brightness of the LED can be dimmed when used inside. In addition to the LEDs, the PS2 status annunciator has a dry contact relay with normally open and normally closed contacts. This relay can trigger an alarm system or control another device.
The status of the inverter is received wirelessly from a Bergey PowerSync II inverter equipped with APRS World, LLC's PS2Tap. Using the supplied antenna, the PS2 status annunciator typically has a 300 foot range. For metal buildings, where the PS2 status annunciator is outside and the PowerSync II inverter is inside, we supply hardware for mounting the antenna through the back of the box.
The PS2 status annunciator runs off of 10 to 28 volts AC or DC. APRS World, LLC supplies a 24 VAC wall adapter and 50 foot power cord. The installer can either shorten the cable in the field or order a different length if needed.
