WTSS HV
The Wind Turbine Speed Sensing (WTSS) circuit is a circuit which extracts the frequency component from an AC signal. The WTSS can be used for measuring wind generator RPM without the need for any additional sensors. The WTSS is compatible with any of our products with a counter input.
As the speed of the wind turbine increases, both the generated voltage and the frequency of the generator's output increases. The WTSS circuit uses the alternating current waveform of voltage, generated by the turbine, and develops a series of 5 Volt pulses proportional to the turbine's speed. The circuit uses the voltage from one phase of the turbine generator. The WTSS starts to sense speed when the generator output exceeds 25 Volts. It provides 5 KV of electrical isolation between the input and the output.
